Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Grantown Community Cinema
I don't like buying online, how can I get a ticket?
We always keep a number of tickets available to purchase 1/2 hour before the film starts which is when the doors open. As a general rule the number held back is 8.
Can you reserve a ticket for me and I'll pay on the door?
Unfortunately no. Please be aware that as a community cinema we are run by volunteers and there is a limit to how much admin and paperwork we can all logistically access and keep a track of. Please either buy online, or be at the door 1/2 hour before the showing and we will have tickets available.
Why can't I buy a ticket from the YMCA?
It would not be fair to ask the YMCA staff to keep a note of all the tickets they had sold, when there are various members of staff who are already stretched to their limit. Also, any tickets we do not sell online, we are unable to contact you should there be a problem with the showing, or should we need to cancel and refund you.
DO YOU HAVE TOILETS?
Yes we have toilets on site.
DO YOU HAVE DISABLED SEATING?
DO YOU OFFER FOOD?
We have a limited selection of snacks, and cold drinks are available and for some performances a licensed bar will be supplied.
CAN I HIRE THE CINEMA FOR A PRIVATE EVENT?
Yes you can! The cinema diary is held by the team at the YMCA and they can advise on costs, access and availablity. Please get in touch with them directly by emailing grantowncommunitycentre@gmail.com
Can my children go to the cinema unaccompanied?
Children under 8 years old cannot attend a screening unaccompanied (regardless of film certification). They should be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or older.
Children under 12 cannot attend a screening unaccompanied after 7pm (regardless of film certification).
How do I know if a film is suitable for my family?
We will always advertise the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) certificate for each film. You can visit their website for more information and search by film too.
